His talk to the integrative animal behavior group at UW was entitled, "Dopamine in the inner ear: a role for enhanced detection of social acoustic signals."

Tom is awarded a Sigma Xi Grant for his field recordings of oyster toadfish in NYC- congrats Tom!

Paul and Kobi head to University of Washington's Friday Harbor Labs on San Juan Island to collaborate with team Sisneros (Joe, Sofia Gray and Loranzie Rogers) on fieldwork and behavioral studies.

January 2024

Tom, Kobi, Xylo and Paul attend the annual Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology conference in Seattle. Tom presented his work on oyster toadfish recordings and anthropogenic noise characterization across four locations in NYC, coauthored by Xylo, Rachel, and Sydney. Kobi presented his research on seasonal and testosterone regulation of synapses in the midshipman inner ear. Xylo presented their summer research in the Wilson lab on pipefish reproduction.

Kelsey's manuscript "Characterization of anthropogenic noise and oyster toadfish (Opsanus tau) calling behavior in urban and small-town coastal soundscapes," has been accepted for publication in The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America. Co-authors include, Tom, Xylo, Rachel, Sydney and former REU student Rebecca. Congrats to all!
